向阳而生，追逐艺术之光——OCIS艺术节完美呈现

仲夏时分，万物欣荣，这是属于孩子们的季节。为了营造浓厚的校园文化艺术氛围，进一步提升学生艺术素养，6月21日，OCIS一年一度的六月艺术节盛大开幕。

Midsummer, when everything is thriving, is the season for children. To create an artistic vibe, and to further students’ appreciation of the arts, a series of performing art shows were offered on June 21st.

本次活动精彩纷呈，包括了艺术展、中文戏剧和英文戏剧展演，每一个环节都洋溢着青春与自信，感染着在场的每一位师生，全场酣畅淋漓，这场视听盛宴见证了每一位孩子的闪耀与光芒。

Primary and Secondary Students got on stage to perform Chinese and English dramas and the art exhibition. Each performance was full of passion and confidence. The audience was full of excitement, and this audio-visual feast marked the excellence of all students involved. 

艺术展作为当天系列活动的第一站，在学校图书馆三楼盛大开展。在这里，充满天马行空想象力的儿童画作、手工艺品挂满了墙壁，突出了艺术、传统文化、国际、梦想等多种元素。在孩子们的世界中，一张小小的纸片、透明的塑料纸都可以成为画材，我们从作品中了解到了孩子们眼中和心中的线条、图像和色彩，感受到了孩子们作品中所散发出的童真、稚嫩、新奇、大胆、阳光、睿智的气息。

As the first stop of the day, the art exhibition was held on the third floor of the library building, where. Students’ paintings and handicrafts, full of unrestrained imagination, are hung on the walls, highlighting various elements such as art, traditional culture, international culture and most importantly, aspirations. In children's world, a small piece of paper or transparent plastic paper can be used as painting material. Through the lines, images and colors in children's eyes and their perceptions, one can feel the innocent, novel, bold, uplifting and intelligent vibe emanating from children's works.

紧接着，OCIS的孩子们以班级为单位，带来了8场风格迥异、精彩绝伦的经典英文戏剧演出。戏剧中孩子们稚嫩的声音背后是对人物的反复推敲，大段大段的英文台词，表演走位，准确无误；服装道具，精益求精；无论是主角配角，有无台词，所有的孩子们都认真投入，尽情绽放自己！

Then, Primary students brought eight classic theatrical performances with different styles and wonderful performances. The children used their tender voices to reenact those famous productions, with their understanding of the characters, delivering of lengthy scripts, accurate positioning and meticulous preparation of costumes and props. Everyone was fully immersed in their parts and was the best in playing their roles. 

戏剧的魅力是无与伦比的，能给每一个孩子更多的自信和张力。无论你是善于表现自己的、热爱驾驭文字的、灵感创意信手拈来的，还是动手强、审美好的，都能在戏剧表演里发现自己的广阔天地，在学习中发现自己更多的可能性。

The charm of drama is unique as it bestows confidence and energy. Students with talents in performing, literacy, creativity, hands-on skills, or good aesthetics, can all find the way to showcase themselves through drama production, while unleashing more potentials.

除了专业、娴熟的英文戏剧表演外，今年语文组老师也带着同学们排练了4场中文戏剧，G7《花木兰》、G8&G9《桃花源记》、G10《雷雨》、G11 IB&AL《玩偶之家》，同学们亲自参与编创、表演等途径，经典桥段的演绎也深化了课本的内蕴，真挚的情感张力背后是数日的辛苦付出。感谢所有孩子让我们再次领略传统文化的魅力！

In addition to professional and proficient English drama performances, this year the Chinese language teacher also practised four Chinese dramas with the students, including G7 "Mulan", G8&G9 "The Land of Peach Blossoms", G10 "The Thunderstorm", G11 IB&AL "A Doll's House". The students actively participated in the creation, performance, and other aspects. The interpretation of classics served as an extensive study from the textbooks. What is behind the emotional performance is  days of hard work. Thank you to all the students for allowing us to once again appreciate the charm of traditional culture!
